The 1998 season brought a new set of uniforms and a playoff appearance for the New York Jets.

The team paid tribute to their lone Super Bowl title in 1968 by bringing back the hunter green color that is associated with that Joe Namath led squad.

The Jets finished the regular season with a record of 12-4 earning them a bye in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. They faced and defeated the Jaguars in the Divisional round 34 -24 before falling to the Broncos in the Conference Championship.
